Staff Psychotherapist

Biography:

As a psychotherapist, it is a privilege to walk with anyone who courageously seeks help as they navigate through life.  It is a joy to be part of the CAPS team at HSU.  I moved to Humboldt three years ago and I immediately fell in love with the environs.   The area allows for many ways to experience the healing properties of nature. Be it walking or hiking in our local forests, or biking along one of our coastal trails.  If an activity takes me outside, that’s where I find peace and healing.

Areas of Interest:

Currently, I am focusing my attention on working with couples, incorporating Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.  I am a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) which is a wonderful support in my work with transgender, and gender-nonconforming individuals.  For those dealing with anxiety, I like to use an approach that provides the individual with coping skills that help manage anxiety symptoms and bring about a better sense of non-judgmental, moment-to-moment awareness.
